  • Little Big Horn: Little Bighorn, the battlefield where General Custer and his men were roundly defeated by combined forces of Sioux, Cheyenne, and Arapaho Tribal warriors in 1876. Although this is known as 'Custer's Last Stand' it is also considered by historians as last stand of the Native Americans, as it followed defeats and repression by the U.S. government, forcing them to cede land. The Custer National Cemetery, on the battlefield, is also part of the National Monument.

Built in 1903 as a hub for three major railroads passing through town, it is now a non-profit organization.
